  • Congratulations! Sameep (Class of 2017, CSAM) and Vinayak (Class of 2017, CSE), for placing in the top quartile in the 2020 Simon Marais Mathematics Competition (SMMC) for Pairs.SMMC is the Asia-Pacific equivalent of the William Putnam Mathematical Competition in the United States.


  • Dr. Ashish Kumar Pandey has received the Start-Up Research Grant by SERB for the project titled " Stability of periodic travelling waves of nonlinear PDEs modelling waves on the water surface" with the project reference number SRG/2019/000741.


  • Dr. Sankha Basu was invited to present on "The Banach-Tarski Paradox" at the Seminar on Gödel and Tarski in Kolkata, West Bengal. This was part of the worldwide celebration of the 1st World Logic Day on January 14, 2019.


  • Dr. Sankha was invited to present on "Paraconsistent Arithmetic" in the workshop on Paraconsistent Logic on March 1, 2019 at IIT-Delhi. This was a pre-conference workshop before ICLA (Indian Conference on Logic and its Applications) 2019.


  • Dr. Sankha Basu's paper titled "A paraconsistent sub-logic of intuitionistic propositional logic" was accepted for oral presentation at ICLA 2019. He presented this at the conference.


  • Dr. Sankha Basu was recently chosen as a member of the Executive Council of the Association for Logic in India (ALI).

    • Submission by Tania Sidana (PhD student, Dept. of Math, IIIT-Delhi) and Anuradha Sharma (Faculty, Dept. of Math, IIIT-Delhi) to present a contributed work entitled "On the structure and distances of repeated-root constacyclic codes of prime power lengths over finite commutative chain rings", and

  • Anuradha Sharma (Faculty, Department of Mathematics, IIIT-Delhi) received a research grant for a period of three years under Mathematics Research Impact Centric Support (Matrics) scheme of DST-SERB for the Project entitled "Multi-twisted codes over various finite commutative rings and their generalizations".


  • Congratulations! Dr. Anuradha Sharma (Faculty, Department of Mathematics, IIIT-Delhi) for getting the project titled, "Repeated-root constacyclic codes over finite commutative chain rings and over non-principal ideal rings $\mathbb{Z}_{p^s}[u]/\langle u^e \rangle$ " approved under Extramural Research (EMR) funding scheme of SERB for a duration of 3 years.


  • Tania Siadana (PhD student, Dept. of Mathematics, IIIT-Delhi) received Open Arms travel grant of BRL 8,800.00 (Brazilian Reais) to attend International Congress of Mathematicians to be held at Rio de Janeiro during August 1-9, 2018.
    She will also deliver a talk on the structure and distances of repeated-root constacyclic codes of prime power lengths over finite commutative chain rings at the International Congress of Mathematicians 2018 in Rio de Janeiro.The International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) is the flagship conference in Mathematics and is hosted by the International Mathematical Union (IMU). The Fields Medals, the Nevanlinna Prize, the Gauss Prize, and the Chern Medal are awarded during the congress's opening ceremony.


  • Dr. Sarthok Sircar has received a grant under Mathematical Research Impact Centric Support (MATRICS) for the project titled, "Kinetics of gastric gels: protection and transport" with the project reference no.MTR/2017/000017.


  • Dr. Samrith Ram has received a grant under Mathematical Research Impact Centric Support (MATRICS) for the project entitled “Enumeration of splitting subspaces of linear transformations over finite fields”.


  • The paper entitled "Enumeration of complementary-dual cyclic $\mathbb{F}_{q}$-linear $\mathbb{F}_{q^t}$-codes" authored by Dr. Anuradha Sharma (Faculty, IIIT-Delhi) and Taranjot Kaur (PhD student) is accepted for publication in the journal Discrete Mathematics.

  • Dr Sankha S. Basu (Faculty, Department of Mathematics, IIIT-D) has received an Associate position in the Theoretical Computer Science unit of The Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai. He will be visiting the Institute for research and collaboration with faculty members working in theoretical computer science up to a maximum of 90 days per year.
